Seeking $250mm - $1b Funding from Benevolent Patron to Fight Tech

You: likely tech or ex-tech, perhaps an idealistic Valley billionaire, deeply disenchanted with the direction of the tech industry, willing to make a serious investment in regime change. 

I am looking for a lot of money to fund resistance efforts against venture capitalists. There is currently zero resistance infrastructure to venture capital, leaving us in an incredibly perilous state as they rapidly accelerate their AI, metaverse and weapons programs. 

I will use this money in order to create and fill resistance infrastructure with the ultimate goal of causing the overthrow/removal of venture capitalists and the beginning of something different. 

This will not require any illegal activity whatsoever, just enough cash for a shot. 

If you are here you probably know my credentials. My work through my former magazine, Model View Culture, was singularly impactful in the early days of Web 2.0 and directly confronted the venture capital threat… evident in how they colluded to destroy my magazine (which they succeeded in) and my life (also succeeded in). No other group and frankly no other individuals have established or maintained a position of material resistance to venture capital, then or in the years since. I identified a16z as a primary enemy nearly 10 years ago and have followed them ever since. I know I can destroy them.

The organizing climate in American is abysmal even as we stare down rapidly deteriorating political and economic circumstances. I can’t get the kind of sustained momentum, committed personnel, and rapid scale out that we require to hit them big and hit them hard without a fuckton of money.

They have never been truly attacked before: this is a priceless advantage. 

Things are bad, but I think this is the right time to move. As tech goes into this next phase of aggressive expansion, the damage will create new frictions with people around the globe. The goal should be to seize on those confrontations to create a global tech resistance and coalition out of the most impacted groups. 

On gaining funding I will focus on: 

- Hiring people to work on this full time. There is no other way to guarantee effort and commitment in the current environment. The state of political organization right now is extremely degraded and people are simply not active. I need money to get any alignment out of people and to get people sufficiently focused and committed to the task while relieving their other responsibilities. This will essentially be raising an army from scratch but I’m prepared to do it. I’m a great talent scout and fine enough manager.

- Launching an investigative team: I’ve been tracking the a16z + PayPal Mafia conspiracy for some time, but there’s so much research that needs to be done as well as collated and presented in clear, simple ways to the public. Additionally, we need to be reporting their activities to as many organizations and think tanks and the SEC and the FBI and all that shit, as well as international bodies, to see if we can get some legal and economic machinery deployed on this problem.

- Creating a global resistance body that can fight tech invasion in other areas of the US and the number of cities abroad that tech is currently invading. The damage that tech does to cities will create resistance just like it did in the Bay Area. When it does, we can be there with a plan and material support and a team that is equipped for go time.

- Funding a free and independent tech press. We have no meaningful tech press that is independent from venture capitalists. I have run a free tech press in the past and with proper funding can get something up within weeks. I have existing infrastructure as well as deep knowledge of this model, I am confident I can build an editorial team and get some actual information going in this system. I can’t be a one-woman media machine anymore, I need to scale myself. I need to hire a competent base team that I can train into this analysis and start pumping out global resistance material.

- Creation of propaganda. People are generally extremely uneasy about tech, bordering on scared, and people are aware of the negative impacts of tech on them. But it is hard to put together a coherent message about that when most people think of the industry as being too technical to understand. As tech activity and penetration increases, this societal tension can be channeled and focused and packaged to our opportunity. People need something to get excited about. An opportunity to actually fight the Evil Empire? This could potentially be extremely appealing and a powerful recruiting mechanism.

- Building a free and independent social media platform that is secure from venture capitalists and fascists. I wrote more extensively on this topic here, but Twitter is fundamentally compromised infrastructure now directly owned by the a16z + PayPal Mafia. Obviously, no other alternatives are going to magically appear. There is no platform that is accessible to non-technical people that isn’t invaded and crushed by fascists. Having an alternative would not just kick-start the tech resistance once more, including providing an alternative vision of tech development, but would also hopefully give other movements a new home where they aren’t being terrorized for any genuine attempt at organizing. Building a full time engineering team would be the first priority.

- Putting together large class action lawsuits aimed at VC firms where the same violations are happening across portfolio companies; such as the experiences of teen girls with sexual violence and pedophile attacks on social media sites. Suing on a tech company-by-tech company basis does not work. VCs represent large portfolios where multiple companies are perpetrating the same crimes over and over. The venture capital formation has too long stood in the background. They need to be directly named in suits and I need at least one world-class class action law firm.

- I am also interested in militias, which we are allowed to have under the Constitution, to help protect local residents in Miami, Atlanta and other cities under tech invasion. 

I have financial and legal teams already to help with the transfer of money and I am open to different kinds of structures for how the money is received. Myself and my organization would not report to you or weight your input above any other authority within the organization. It would be my preference that you are not involved at all in the execution to protect both of us. We can discuss any additional contributions you might want to make outside of the funding. I have never handled this much money before but I know quite a bit from my time in the industry. I am confident that we are looking at a rare window for change and we need to move fast to get through it.
